Job Title: Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: Pediatric Echo Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: - Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the required specialty. License: - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Description: Under limited supervision and direction, this intermediate-level position is able to accept independent clinical and non-clinical duty assignments as necessary. Provides specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to pediatric patient populations. Aims to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Maintains competencies required to perform essential duties and responsibilities. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other team members to identify and implement the actions needed to achieve clinical outcomes and service expectations. Utilizes specialized imaging equipment and techniques to perform a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews without assistance to confirm that all required study elements are completed and documented. Transfers images and data to the appropriate archive systems and prepares studies for reporting by physicians. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, and maintenance as per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies. Provides instruction and mentorship to less experienced team members. Prepares and presents in-service training pertinent to the assigned service area. Performs quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
