Certifications: BLS and one of the following: CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) Certification, CCI Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) Certification, ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Certification, ARRT Sonography (S) Certification.

Description:
Provides health care services by applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis.
Performs Sonography procedures, computer processing, and related techniques, producing images for interpretation.
Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.
Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of exams or procedures.
Produces quality images for review with correct interpretation.
Prepares copies of images and records image releases in electronic health records.
Verifies images are archived and notifies the administrator of any issues.
Sends images to tele-radiology services after hours as instructed.
Participates in image Peer Review with the Lead.
Works with the Lead and Radiologists on accreditation as needed.
Assists in equipment and software selections.
Orders and/or restocks supplies and linens.
Reports all equipment malfunctions to the proper personnel.
Reports any environmental safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Works with vendors to schedule equipment maintenance.
Collaborates on changes/needs for the Electronic Health Record system.
Verifies orders, patient name, birth date, and history.
Documents all incidents related to patient care in electronic health records.
Performs and documents time-out procedures for invasive procedures.
Follows department protocol for all exams.
Provides initial interpretations for exams according to department protocol.
