Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology unit, requiring 3+ years of applicable experience and ARRT registration.

Details

• Cardiovascular Invasive unit performing cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiology diagnostic and interventional procedures
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5 PM
• Rotating weekend and holiday shifts
• May float to Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital
• Epic charting experience required

Requirements

• Minimum three years of applicable experience in cardiac/vascular and EP diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate of completion for a Radiology Program required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ARRT Registration in Radiology required
• IEMA (Illinois state) License in Rad Technology required if applicable
• Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and EP theory required
• Competency in moderate sedation administration and protocol required
• Advanced EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills required
• Proficient in sterile table setup, aseptic technique, and patient prep/draping
• Knowledge of radiation safety and imaging equipment operation required
• Experience operating monophasic and biphasic defibrillators
• Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browser use
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Assist cardiologists in performing invasive coronary, vascular, and EP diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Set up and operate electrical/imaging equipment and computers used in cardiac catheterization procedures
• Interpret hemodynamic and procedural results/outcomes and select appropriate procedural supplies
• Communicate with and educate patients during procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure quality care
• Collaborate with physicians, team members, and Research RN/Coordinator on patient care and laboratory-based research
• Train and mentor team members as needed
• Manage digital archiving system, ensuring safe storage of patient images and reports
• Monitor and troubleshoot equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly to maintain patient safety
• Document patient observations, care provided, and procedural findings accurately
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Candidates must live 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
