Job Summary:
The professional registered nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular in Redding, California, provides specialized care for patients with cardiac conditions within a critical care setting. This role involves managing diverse patient needs, including recent open-heart surgeries and mixed ICU cases, in a fast-paced hospital environment. The nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality care aligned with clinical best practices.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, days (6:45 AM 7:15 PM), with an every-other-weekend schedule.
- Certifications and Education: ACLS, BLS certifications, NIHSS, PALS preferred; licensure to submit is required, with willingness to wait for licensing.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working with fresh open-heart patients and mixed ICU populations.
- Unit Notes: Telemetry, Laboratory, Emergency, and Critical Care units. Unit carding includes 30 beds, with a ratio of 1-2 patients most of the time.
- Additional Notes: Candidates must have recent experience with open-heart procedures, and flexibility to float to tele or med-surg units if needed. Orientation includes one day of unit-specific training.
- Operational Details: Hospitalist or Intensivist staff available 24/7, along with pharmacy services. RT available around the clock, and the hospital utilizes Cerner charting system.
- Shift specifics: Schedule finalized approximately six weeks in advance; self-scheduling is permitted but subject to manager review.
- Other Requirements: No holiday work is required at this time; candidates must be willing to wait for license processing.
