Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular nurse position in Bemidji, Minnesota, involves providing specialized care to cardiac patients within a high-acuity unit. The role requires responding to critical emergencies, managing cardiac monitoring, and supporting ventilated patients in a fast-paced environment. This position offers a rotating shift schedule with varied hours designed to meet operational needs.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Minnesota state Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum 3 years recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience, 2-3 years of cardiac experience, willingness to float to other critical care units such as Telemetry and Emergency Room, Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience (other EMR experience listed in comments), and general job skills including responding to code blue calls, ventilator management, and cardiac monitoring.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working for a healthcare facility, and an end date for any recent employment with Sanford Health must be more than 6 months prior to submission.
- Special Equipment and Procedures: Use of EPIC EMR system, ventilators, Bipaps, cardiac monitors, and Artline s.
- Unit Details: 16 beds with a nurse to patient ratio of 3:5.
- Orientation and Training: 12 to 24 hours per unit, with adjustments as needed. All clinicians are required to badge in and out at the facility.
- Additional Information: The unit maintains a dress code of navy scrubs and operates with varied shifts, including every third weekend.
