Job Summary
The Madison-based Healthcare Provider is seeking a highly skilled Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Cardiovascular (CVICU) Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in a dynamic cardiothoracic surgical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with cardiothoracic surgeries, advanced cardiovascular device management, and telemetry testing, delivering care to adult and geriatric patients across 12-hour night shifts.
Job Details
- Position: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Cardiovascular Registered Nurse
- Location: Madison, WI
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license.
- Education & Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in an ICU setting, including cardiothoracic surgery/care, telemetry, and management of advanced cardiac devices.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities:
- Care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries, lung and heart transplants, and those with complex medical devices such as Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and IABP.
- Assist with invasive procedures including chest tube management, arterial line handling, port access, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Manage ventilated patients, administer emergency medications, and monitor telemetry rhythms.
- Maintain proficiency in specialized equipment and procedures, and complete required pass/fail telemetry testing prior to start.
- Additional Information:
- Travel experience required with the ability to pass strict certification exams including adult and pediatric telemetry tests.
- Duration: September 28, 2026, to December 28, 2026.
- Must be willing to float as needed, with a local rule requiring candidates to be beyond 50 miles from the facility.
- Candidate must have passed or be able to pass a telemetry test with 80% or higher scores within two attempts.
- Inpatient RN travelers are expected to have two years of recent acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty submitted to.
