Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) registered nurse position is located in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves providing specialized post-operative cardiac care in a 16-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) with a high-volume, advanced cardiac surgery focus. The selected candidate will work within a highly skilled team, supporting patient recovery from complex cardiac procedures, including ECMO, LVADs, and other critical device management, while participating in a dynamic, technologically advanced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); minimum of 3 years of critical care experience with CVICU background; valid Tennessee nursing licensure or eligibility; required to work scheduled nights
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring; familiarity with IABP, Impella, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT); experience with post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADs
- Additional Information: The unit specializes in post-operative care for high-volume cardiac surgeries, staffed with a dedicated intensivist 24/7, and well-equipped with advanced patient monitoring and life support equipment such as Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps. The team is recognized for outstanding collaboration and clinical excellence, with awards including the HCA Unit of Distinction Award and the Daisy Award for nursing excellence.
