Job Summary
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) with a focus on Open Heart (OH) care is seeking a registered nurse at a healthcare facility. This role involves providing safe, high-quality patient care based on nursing research and standards for a diverse patient population, with an emphasis on cardiac and post-operative care.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: NYS RN License, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years post open heart and cardiac care unit experience, at least 2 years of RN experience, 1 year travel experience for travel positions (not required for per diem), and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing preferred, or an associate degree with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program.
• Schedule: 11.5-hour shifts, 3 to 4 days per week, with weekends required.
• Conducts patient assessments and applies critical thinking skills to manage care of patients with cardiovascular conditions.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
• Demonstrates advanced clinical skills crucial to quality and safety in cardiac patient care.
• Performs charge nurse duties as assigned and ensures appropriate utilization of supplies and resources.
• Utilizes electronic medical record systems for documentation supporting quality initiatives.
• Contributes to the professional development of staff and engages in shared decision-making and unit initiatives.
• Submits appropriate documentation and adheres to institutional, regulatory, and legal standards.
