Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Cardio-Pulmonary unit requiring tele, Level 1 Trauma, and EPIC experience with an active IL RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit caring for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
  • 12-hour day shifts from 7:00AM to 7:30PM, 3 days per week
  • 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • May float to like units
  • No on-call requirements
  • EPIC EMR used for documentation

Requirements

  • Active IL RN License in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Telemetry experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma setting experience required
  • EPIC charting experience required

Additional Information

  • Manage care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients including care planning, medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and lab monitoring
  • Prepare patients for procedures and manage pain management needs
  • Provide discharge instructions for safe transition from hospital
  • Participate in team huddles, delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up, and maintain professional communication with the healthcare team
  • Perform basic patient care duties such as turning and toileting per standards of care
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Candidates who have been on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year must complete a 6-month break in service before returning
