Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a cardiopulmonary unit requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit
  • Care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
  • Day shift schedule: 7:00AM-7:30PM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
  • 6 weekend shifts required within a six-week schedule
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Will float to similar units
  • Uses Epic EMR for documentation

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Epic EMR charting experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Skilled in IV venipuncture, blood administration, lab monitoring, and pain management
  • Experience with patient assessment, care plan development, and discharge planning

Additional Information

  • Manage care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients, including medication administration and monitoring effects of interventions
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide discharge instructions for safe transition from hospital
  • Participate in team huddles and delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up
  • Perform basic patient care duties including turning, toileting, and answering call lights
  • Demonstrate strong professional communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service before returning
