Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN for a Level I trauma center, requiring 2+ years of experience and a compact or OK RN license.

Details

  • Float position covering cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
  • 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
  • Unit supported by PCTs, healthcare unit coordinators, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
  • Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
  • Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period
  • Holiday coverage required if department has a need

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Compact or OK) currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification through AHA
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

  • Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans while communicating patient condition to the care team
  • Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
  • Carries out physician and nursing orders
  • Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  • Radius rules apply and may affect pay rate for local candidates
