Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of cardiac telemetry experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

  • Work on a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit that serves as the facility's main cardiac telemetry unit
  • Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI heart attacks, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain, with occasional overflow medical patients
  • Patients are monitored on cardiac monitors both remotely and on the unit, and may be on cardiac drips
  • Typical patient ratios range from 1:5-6, with potential increases to 1:7 during call-ins
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs
  • Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Skills should include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, and oxygen administration
  • Experience with cardiac drips (non-titration) preferred
  • Comfort with high patient ratios (up to 1:7) required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response as needed
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
  • Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted, with holiday RTO requests requiring willingness to work one of the three major holidays
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible
