Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active MI RN license and at least 1 year of cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• Work on a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit that serves as the facility's main cardiac telemetry unit
• Care for patients with heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, arrhythmias, and chest pain, with possible overflow medical patients
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, potentially increasing to 1:7 during call-ins
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs
• Cerner Powerchart used for charting
• Patients monitored both on-unit and via remote telemetry room

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Experience managing cardiac drips (titration not required) and monitoring for dysrhythmias
• Comfortable working with high patient ratios

Additional Information

• Monitor cardiac patients for dysrhythmias and respond to changes in condition, utilizing rapid response/code teams as needed
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted, and any holiday RTO requests require willingness to work one of the three major holidays
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, though management will attempt to accommodate requests
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Facility maintains strict professional conduct standards, with unprofessional behavior or attendance issues potentially resulting in contract termination
