Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of surgical tele experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

  • Surgical Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for MI, rule-out MI, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
  • Supports specialized structural heart patients including VAD and TAVR
  • Patient ratio is 1:4, increasing to 1:5 at midnight
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required to like units and potentially to sister facilities
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of surgical telemetry experience required, including open heart surgery, vascular/groin radial band management, and IV skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management skills required
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, LVAD support, and post-open-heart surgery care
  • Performs telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities as needed
