Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift hospital position requiring SC or compact RN license and at least 1 year of specialty experience.

Details

  • Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Cares for adult patients with chest pain/acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes, syncope, pacemaker insertion, CVA/TIA/stroke, pneumonia, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, and GI bleeding
  • Also supports surgical patients across general surgery, otolaryngology, gynecology, orthopedics, cardiology, and urology
  • Performs cardiac/telemetry monitoring, pulse oximetry, TEE, negative pressure (AFB) isolation, thoracentesis/paracentesis, and dialysis support
  • Administers Level 3 continuous IV infusions and IV push medications per facility policy
  • Uses Pyxis and Omnicell medication systems and EPIC for documentation
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
  • Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
  • Floating to similar units or facilities required based on census needs

Requirements

  • Active RN license (SC or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Telemetry required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR required

Additional Information

  • Provides cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Utilizes remote telemetry monitoring and coordinates with Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
  • Orientation occurs every Monday along with annual compliance training
  • Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible at full pay, with reduced eligibility for those 90-99.9 miles away
  • Night shift candidates in this specialty may be considered if located 50+ miles from the contracted campus, with full eligibility at 100+ miles
