Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown position on nights, requiring an active IL RN license and prior stepdown experience.

Details

  • Cardiac Stepdown Unit setting
  • Historical patient ratio of 1:7
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 1845 start will float
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Float within the same discipline across local campuses may be required
  • 8, 10, or 13 week contract options available

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IL required, IA license required or proof of application submitted)
  • Compact license accepted
  • BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of previous stepdown experience required
  • At least 1 completed travel contract preferred
  • Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
  • Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban, including titration, required
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Work history/resume required for consideration
  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission required for consideration
  • One supervisory reference from within 2 years of employment/contract required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Contribute clinical knowledge and skills as part of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Facility is a Level 1 trauma center
  • Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
  • Local candidates are welcome to apply
