Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Step Down Registered Nurse in New Haven, CT. This contract position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse patient population while providing high-quality care. As a Step Down RN, you will be responsible for managing patients recovering from cardiac procedures and surgeries, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their recovery process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for Medical/Surgical Cardiac Patients with both floor and stepdown level of care for cardiology, cardiothoracic, and vascular patients.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience required; first-timers accepted.
• Certifications required: NIHSS, ACLS, BLS.
• Tele trained and competent to care for pre/post cardiac procedures and cardiac surgery, including chest tubes and pacer wires.
• Must float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Pending License accepted.
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
