American Traveler is hiring an Echocardiography Sonographer with dedicated inpatient echo experience and ARDMS or CCI registration to perform adult echo studies in a premiere cardiac center.

  • Inpatient hospital setting within a Non-Invasive Services cardiac center
  • AM shift schedule with either Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM
  • 4 days per week, 9.5 hours per day, 38 hours per week
  • No on-call requirement
  • Uses Philips iE33 and Epiq ultrasound systems
  • Epic EMR system used for charting
  • Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby

Requirements

  • Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI
  • Current BLS certification from AHA
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases via institutional referral
  • Strong hands-on inpatient echocardiography scanning experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills
  • Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies
  • Ability to work independently and quickly recognize and respond to critical findings
  • Active NJ license required if applicable
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
  • TEE and Stress Echo experience preferred
  • Familiarity with 3D echo imaging preferred
  • Familiarity with TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols preferred
  • Familiarity with Epic hospital information system preferred

Additional Information

  • Perform high quality adult echo studies in accordance with ASE and IAC guidelines
  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, and monitor patients throughout testing to ensure comfort
  • Set up equipment and perform ultrasound procedures in a timely manner
  • Review prior reports, images, and patient charts before exams
  • Ensure appropriate images and techniques are used, confirm study completeness, and notify readers
  • Maintain exam records, logs, and inventory of supplies for the assigned area
  • Experience maintaining ICAEL-accredited echo lab standards is a plus
  • Accepts local candidates at an adjusted rate
