Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with dedicated inpatient echocardiography experience and required TAVR TTE pre-treatment scanning experience for critical aortic stenosis patients in a premiere cardiac center.

Details

  • Non-invasive services unit in a premiere cardiac center
  • Performs high quality adult echo studies per ASE & IAC guidelines
  • Focus on inpatient echocardiography including pre-TAVR TTE scans for critical aortic stenosis patients
  • Uses Philips ie33 and Epiq systems
  • Epic EMR used for charting
  • Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun schedule, 9:00 AM-7:00 PM, 4x9.5 hour shifts, 38 hours/week
  • No on-call requirement
  • Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby

Requirements

  • Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Sonographer with ARDMS or CCI
  • BLS certification from AHA
  • Active NJ license required if applicable
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases via institutional referral
  • Required TAVR TTE experience scanning pre-TAVR treatment patients with critical aortic stenosis, must be reflected on resume
  • Strong proficiency in valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, and Pedoff techniques
  • Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies
  • Ability to work independently and recognize and respond quickly to critical findings
  • TEE and Stress Echo experience preferred
  • Familiarity with 3D echo imaging preferred
  • Experience with TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols preferred
  • Familiarity with Epic hospital information system preferred
  • Experience maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards preferred

Additional Information

  • Prepares patients for exams, explains procedures, and monitors patients throughout the process for comfort and safety
  • Sets up equipment and ensures timely, thorough completion of studies with proper imaging techniques
  • Reviews prior reports, images, and patient charts before exams
  • Maintains exam records, logs, and inventory of supplies for the assigned area
  • Only experienced techs with high-end valve center or structural heart facility background will be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at a different rate
