Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for a Non-Invasive Cardiology position requiring 3+ years experience and Level I Trauma experience

Details

  • Non-Invasive Cardiology setting performing cardiac ultrasound services for adult patients
  • Performs transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms to diagnose and assess cardiac abnormalities
  • May assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms during complex cardiac procedures
  • 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years working experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • BLS certification (AHA only) required
  • RCS or RDCS certification required
  • Active TX license required if applicable
  • Must be independent and self-sufficient
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include preparing equipment, prepping patients, explaining procedures, reviewing images, and reporting findings
  • Analyzes patient clinical history to determine appropriate scope of examination
  • Assists in transesophageal studies including probe sterilization and measurement calculations
  • Acts as a resource to staff, physicians, and students on equipment, techniques, and procedures
  • Works with quality coordinator on protocols and IAC accreditation activities
  • Scrubs must be any solid color with no prints
  • Flu shots are mandatory with no exemptions granted, typically required August through November
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Two professional references required
