Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Cardiac/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring MI RN licensure and 1+ year of PCU or stepdown experience.

Details

• Cardiac Stepdown/PCU unit within a 225-bed specialty care hospital with Trauma Level 2 designation
• 36-bed unit caring for cardiac and stepdown-level patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
• Uses Cerner EHR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Call required only during low census periods
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
• Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
• PCU/stepdown and low-level ICU skills preferred
• Associate degree in nursing required

Additional Information

• Provide care to cardiac and stepdown-level patients including chest tube management and cardiac drip administration
• Work within a collaborative team environment where teamwork is essential
• Scrub color requirement: blue or navy, with blue jeans not permitted
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
