As a PCU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit. You will work with patients recovering from cardiac procedures, including open-heart surgery and vascular surgeries. Your expertise in surgical telemetry and IV skills will be essential in managing complex patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including myocardial infarction and coronary artery disease.
• Provide care for pre/post open-heart surgery patients and those with vascular surgery needs.
• Administer medications and treatments, including blood products and cardioversion/defibrillation.
• Perform telemetry interpretation and manage dysrhythmias.
• Ensure compliance with sternal precautions and chest tube management.
• Utilize Epic for patient management and documentation.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac PCU or similar setting.
• Must have surgical telemetry experience, including open heart surgery and vascular management.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Epic experience is a hard stop requirement.
• Experience with VAD and TAVR is optional but preferred.

Travelers must be flexible with floating to like units and are required to work every other weekend. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, which may increase to 1:5 during midnight shifts.
