Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring acute inpatient PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

  • Cardiac PCU with 48 beds and a 1:5 patient ratio
  • Patient population includes cardiac diagnoses, PCI, and pacemaker cases
  • Common medications administered include Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
  • RN must read telemetry and titrate medications accordingly
  • Performs IVs, PCA management, feeding tube care, wound vac care, CBI, trach care, and central line care
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • ANM support provided on the unit
  • Day shift schedule, 06:45-19:15, three 12-hour shifts per week totaling 36 hours
  • Every other weekend required per unit need

Requirements

  • Active RN license (KY or compact) required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum two years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation throughout the shift
  • Provides patient and family education specific to care, treatment, and discharge needs
  • Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and may serve as a mentor or preceptor
  • Participates in teamwork, quality improvement, and a Practice Governance model
  • Applies evidence-based practice in daily patient care delivery
