Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring critical care and prior travel experience with a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • ICU setting caring for Cardiac ICU patients along with overflow from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU
  • Focus on cardiology patient population
  • 1:2 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
  • Every other weekend required with flexibility expected for unit needs
  • Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas should be expected
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic charting system required

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years critical care experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Level I Trauma facility experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Charge RN experience preferred
  • References must be from a direct supervisor, not a charge RN

Additional Information

  • Work in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma facility with high volume and high acuity patients
  • Preference given to candidates with high acuity, teaching, and trauma facility experience
  • 23 staffed beds on the unit
  • Scrub color is blue, facility-provided as needed or candidate's own solid color
  • Prior UW staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a traveler
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • No more than 6 RTO days permitted
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis, no hardstop
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
  • Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week pay period
  • Manager prefers to avoid placing travel pairs on this unit
