Job Summary:
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) Technologist is responsible for supporting cardiologists and radiologists by executing and analyzing procedures performed in the Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The role involves integrating technical skills, patient interaction, and adherence to safety protocols to deliver high-quality care. This position requires working under supervision to ensure safe and precise treatment, with opportunities for mentorship and training of students.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, starting at 0700, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA), with at least 2 years of interventional cath lab experience. Structural heart procedure experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with accurate monitoring, diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, equipment setup, fluoroscopy, and patient assessment.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, relevant certifications such as RCES, RCIS, or ARRT R or equivalent accepted.
- Experience: At least 2 years of Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience, including work in adult and pediatric diagnostic catheterizations.
- Additional Information: The role involves working in a procedural environment with exposure to specialized equipment and procedures like IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, TAVR, and use of vascular closure systems. The technologist will be involved in maintaining sterile fields, recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias, and providing patient monitoring during procedures.
