Job Summary:
Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist position located at a healthcare facility. The role involves assisting physicians with invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including temporary and permanent pacemaker placements. The technologist will also support circulatory support device procedures such as Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP). This position requires collaboration with the procedure team to ensure equipment readiness, patient safety, and procedural success.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM, 40 hours per week, with 4 days of 10-hour shifts.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technologist program or radiologic technologist program or graduate of an applied science program. Certifications include AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) and radiology certification. Minimum 1 year of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area in an acute care hospital. Experience with permanent pacemaker placement, Impella devices, and balloon pumps preferred. Valid radiologic technologist license or equivalent required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Mac lab experience and familiarity with EPIC Electronic Medical Record system.
- Skills: Proficient in sterile operative techniques, hemodynamic monitoring, equipment calibration, and maintaining clinical information systems related to cardiovascular procedures. Strong communication skills are essential.
- Additional Information: Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 100 lbs., and stand for at least 4 hours daily. The technologist will participate in on-call duties, including a minimum of 7 shifts per organizational policy. The role involves patient communication adjusted to individual needs, adherence to radiation safety standards, and professional role modeling.
