Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

  • Work in a 3-room Cardiac Cath Lab and EP procedure area within a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital
  • Case types include diagnostic/interventional cath, LHC/RHC, NSTEMI and STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotoblator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral diagnostic/intervention, and loop recorders
  • EP cases include Micra, pacemaker, AICD, lead extraction/revision, and generator changes
  • Average daily caseload of 5-15 cases
  • 10-hour day shifts from 0700-1730
  • Self-scheduling in 6-week increments with manager final approval
  • On-call required for both weekend and weekday overnight coverage with a 30-minute response time and no sleep room available
  • Weekend call coverage totals 2 shifts per 4-week schedule, either consecutive or split
  • 4-5 additional weekday overnight call shifts per 4-week schedule
  • No floating required
  • Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Phillips hemodynamics and c-arm, and Merge PACS

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • Minimum 12 months of core specialty experience with most recent experience within the past year
  • Experience with moderate sedation using Versed/Fentanyl and critical drip management required
  • Experience monitoring and circulating cases required
  • Preferred experience across all listed cath lab and EP case types
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • At least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required
  • Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in a Level 1 Trauma Center, Level III Perinatal Center, and comprehensive stroke center with Magnet designation
  • Work alongside a Charge RN who participates in cases, receptionist, hospitalist/physician coverage after hours, respiratory therapy, and unit management support
  • Orientation includes facility-level NEO and one day of unit-specific orientation
  • Holiday coverage may include on-call responsibilities as needed
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
  • Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible
