Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring an active AZ or Compact license and at least 2 years of relevant experience in a Level I trauma facility

Details

  • Acute care Cardiac Cath Lab within a Level I trauma hospital (busy Level II experience also considered)
  • Unit includes 3 main cath lab rooms, 1 EP lab, and 1 hybrid room performing both vascular and cardiac cases
  • Handles approximately 10-25 cases per day in a circulating role only, no scrubbing required
  • Patient population includes interventional, EP, peripheral, mitral clip, TAVR, IABP, and EMTALA placement cases
  • Utilizes Cerner and Xper charting systems
  • Uses Philips telemetry monitoring and Philips/Siemens cath lab equipment
  • 12-hour day shifts, 6:00am-6:30pm, Monday through Friday
  • Requires 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Holiday coverage based on unit needs
  • On-call responsibilities required, varied 6-10 shifts per schedule with a 30-minute response time
  • Charge nurse support available on the unit
  • 2-day floor-specific orientation provided

Requirements

  • Active AZ or Compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
  • Level I trauma center experience required (busy Level II experience will be considered)
  • Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam with an 80% score within two attempts before contract confirmation
  • Must pass a Day 1 sterile technique skills exam for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
  • Must demonstrate strong competency in maintaining sterile field technique
  • Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • RNs circulate cases only; scrubbing in is not required
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified using driver's license address
  • No local candidates or local pay rates accepted
  • Candidates who were directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
  • Failing the Relias Dysrhythmia exam or sterile technique test results in a 6-month do-not-use status with CommonSpirit AZ and Sacramento region facilities
  • Study guides and videos are provided to help prepare for the dysrhythmia exam
  • Additional education-based training provided on lifts, restraints, and wound care practices
