Job Summary
Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist, Cardiac Cath Lab. This position supports adult and geriatric cardiac catheterization procedures in a high-volume interventional setting. The role requires recent interventional scrub experience and the ability to independently scrub cardiac catheterization cases, including complex structural and vascular procedures.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 410-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Weekday, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage is required as scheduled.
- Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Recent experience independently scrubbing interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Required certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R) and/or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- An active Maryland or compact registered nurse license is required for registered nurse candidates working in a technologist role.
- Required influenza vaccination; exemptions are not available.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Community hospital experience.
- Experience with three-dimensional imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, interventional cardiac catheterization, hybrid operating room procedures, sterile technique, equipment setup, inventory maintenance, and cardiac device procedures.
- Additional Information:
- The position performs technologist duties only and does not include monitoring or circulating responsibilities.
- Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients.
- Procedures may include left and right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, intra-aortic balloon pump procedures, Rotablator atherectomy, Shockwave procedures, patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect closures, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, MitraClip, Watchman, temporary pacemaker procedures, and vascular closure procedures.
- On-call coverage may include up to 13 weekday shifts from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Thursday.
- Weekend coverage includes three weekends during the assignment, with on-call coverage from Friday at 5:00 PM through Monday at 6:00 AM.
- Holiday coverage is required when scheduled.
- The department includes two cardiac catheterization laboratories and one hybrid operating room.
- Block scheduling and special scheduling requests cannot be accommodated.
