Schedule

Shift: 0600-1630, with rotating weekend call responsibilities.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab will be responsible for circulating in various cardiovascular procedures including left heart catheterizations (LHC), complete heart catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), chronic total occlusions (CTO), and peripheral procedures. The RN will work in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team and must be prepared to take on various challenges in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care in the CCL, including assessment and management during procedures.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and document patients' vital signs and conditions during procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment used in the lab, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new staff and nurses as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Valid RN license in the state of Texas.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
  • Experience in catheterization lab procedures preferred.
  • Must have skills in LHC and PCI; additional skills in IABP and Impella are a plus.
