Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Rad Tech with required cath lab experience for a role supporting cardiac, EP, and interventional radiology procedures

Details

  • Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures unit performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac, EP device, peripheral vascular, neuro interventional, and interventional radiology procedures
  • 4x10 night shifts from 6:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • On-call rotation for weekends and holidays
  • Required to float to all areas of the department including Prep and Recovery as needed
  • Uses PACS, physiologic monitoring, and imaging equipment
  • Utilizes adjunctive tools including IVUS, FFR/iFR, Lithotripsy, Impella, IABP, OCT, Rotarex, HawkOne, Penumbra, EKOS, and Inari

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology required
  • Cath lab experience required
  • Neuro Interventional, IR, and EP experience a plus
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • ARRT(R) certification required
  • IEMA Radiography License required if applicable
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately

Additional Information

  • Administers contrast material via existing IV line or venipuncture and monitors for hypersensitivity or allergic reactions
  • Anticipates setup needs and circulates, scrubs, and/or monitors procedures including cardiac cath, neuro interventional, peripheral vascular, structural, IR, and EP device cases
  • Performs procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, pericardiocentesis, coronary angiogram, temporary pacemaker, Watchman, EVAR, cerebral angiogram, STEMI and stroke intervention, and pacemaker insertion
  • Achieves hemostasis at vascular access sites and monitors for complications
  • Follows ALARA principle to maintain staff and patient safety during invasive procedures
  • Verifies image transfer to PACS and troubleshoots basic PACS issues
  • Expected to take call independently within 6 months of starting
  • Assists in instruction of new staff as needed
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
