Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in the cath lab, primarily focusing on interventional radiology (IR) and cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide intra-procedural circulation and assist in medication administration and sedation.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and assess patients undergoing various procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and procedures within the cath lab.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation through EPIC and Apollo cardiac charting systems.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge related to cardiac and interventional radiology practices.

Work Environment

  • 3 suite/lab environment with an average of 4-5 cases per day.
  • Supervision provided by a lab supervisor, with staff comprising Cath Lab Technologists.
  • Versatile lab environment primarily performing IR procedures with cardiac inpatient add-ons.
  • Prepare for STEMI cases and utilize advanced equipment such as IABP for stabilization.

Qualifications

  • Current nursing license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital setting focused on cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in medication administration and patient care protocols.

Schedule and Availability

  • Shift approval will be obtained from the supervisor.
  • Availability for a minimum of 10 weeknight shifts and at least 2 weekends per month (including IR and cardiac cases).
  • Participation in holiday rotations may be required.
  • Must be adaptable to floating between departments as needed.

Dress Code

Surgical greens are required attire while on duty.

Orientation

A comprehensive unit-specific orientation lasting one week will be provided, including on-call buddy training.
