Job Summary

Join our team in Ramsey, NJ, where you'll have the opportunity to work in a vibrant community known for its excellent schools, parks, and proximity to New York City. As a Calibration Technician, you will travel to customer sites to provide essential instrument calibration services, ensuring compliance with FDA and NIST standards. Support our Pharmaceutical Services Division by maintaining the accuracy and reliability of equipment and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration & Verification: Perform scheduled calibration, verification, and adjustment of instrumentation at customer facilities and within the Pharmaceutical Services Division (PSD) according to approved procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Records & Documentation: Maintain accurate calibration records, update asset management databases, and generate calibration certificates to ensure compliance and traceability.
  • Schedule Coordination: Coordinate and execute calibration schedules for internal and customer equipment, working closely with PSD personnel and customer representatives to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Field Service Logistics: Plan and coordinate travel, equipment, tools, and materials required for field service assignments and calibration activities.
  • Field Service Reporting: Prepare and submit field service documentation, including calibration reports, service reports, labor logs, time sheets, and expense reports, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Standards & Traceability: Maintain the certification, accuracy, and traceability of all calibration standards, ensuring compliance with NIST and applicable quality requirements.
  • Facility & Equipment Support: Support the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of in-house manufacturing equipment, utilities, and Building Automation Systems.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance: Maintain compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality systems, safety requirements, and training programs.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve calibration processes, documentation, and operational efficiency, recommending corrective or preventive actions when appropriate.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by providing exceptional technical service and identifying opportunities for calibration, preventive maintenance, and service contract support.
  • Professionalism & Representation: Represent the company professionally, demonstrating technical expertise, customer focus, and commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Technical Services: Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, commissioning, equipment rebuilding, troubleshooting, and other technical services as assigned by management.
  • Workplace Maintenance: Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment, including proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company assets.
  • Continuous Improvement & Special Projects: Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties and special projects to meet departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Technical skills in calibration of temperature, air flow, pressure, and moisture sensing instrumentation; basic knowledge of PLCs, computers, and control system components; comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical process equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA and NEC/NFPA guidelines; ARC Flash training required.
  • Training or willingness to train on confined space entry for potential entry into confined spaces within supplied equipment under customer supervision.
  • Ability to work while standing on a ladder.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time to customer sites, including local travel.
