Description

American Traveler is hiring a Burn ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring adult critical care experience and telemetry proficiency, with a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• 18-bed Burn and Pediatric Trauma ICU setting in a Magnet, teaching, Level I trauma hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3
• Every other weekend required with some flexibility expected
• No on-call requirements
• May float to other ICUs within scope as needed to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic for charting
• Assigned patients appropriate to skill level, with adult population focus

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS; CCRN and/or ENPC, PALS, and TNCC preferred
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam demonstrating proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with adult ICU populations required; PICU-only experience not accepted
• Telemetry experience required
• Skills required include care of ventilated patients, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG placement/reads
• Preferred skills include continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation monitoring, ICP monitoring, and Swan Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to burn and pediatric trauma ICU patients within scope of adult critical care experience
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Scrubs may be any solid color; light blue scrubs also provided on unit
• RTO limited to no more than 6 days, with no holiday RTO and minimal RTO requested during the first two weeks
• Facility may call off one shift per two-week pay period
• Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers accepted
