Description

American Traveler is hiring a Burn ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and IN or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in a Burn ICU caring for both adult and pediatric burn trauma patients
  • Patient population includes flame, scald, electrical, chemical burns, inhalation injuries, necrotic ischemia, and necrotizing fasciitis
  • Utilizes a Primary RN Care model
  • Nursing care ratios of 1:2 for critical care patients
  • 1:1 nursing care support for burn trauma code 1 admissions and high acuity or post-operative patients
  • 12-week assignment on night shift, 19:00-07:30
  • Responsibilities include invasive hemodynamic monitoring at least Q1hr, IV drip titration, nurse-driven burn fluid resuscitation using the Parkland formula, ventilator management, and CVVH
  • Performs Q1h pulse and flap doppler checks, initial debridement and dressing changes, conscious sedation, surgical recovery, and epidural pump management

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (must be AHA)
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

  • Provide direct critical care nursing to adult and pediatric burn trauma patients across the continuum of care
  • Facility follows a radius rule that allows local candidates but may result in a reduced pay rate depending on distance from the facility
  • Candidates should begin discussing extension opportunities with their manager approximately 45 days before the assignment end date
