The Psychiatric Technician supports children and adolescents with daily needs during their hospitalization. Clinical tasks include phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing. Care is provided as part of a trauma-informed and developmentally sensitive model. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with two years of full-time experience in nursing or psychiatric/behavioral healthcare. Alternatively, a satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. All candidates must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Completion of a recognized crisis intervention training is required. Successful completion of an appropriate training program in the application and use of restraints and seclusion is essential.
