Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)
Facility Type/Setting: Psychiatric / Behavioral Health Hospital
Unit: ADOL, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and VINE
Shift & Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; 12-hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 48 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks (confirm with agency)
Requirements:
- BLS certification
- Active Blue Card CPI certification required at submission
- Ability to assess patients' mental health status, including psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications and medication management
- Strong therapeutic communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' mental health status and identify behavioral or psychiatric concerns.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation for patients experiencing suicidal ideation, aggression, or other behavioral emergencies.
- Monitor vital signs, mental status changes, and responses to treatment.
- Use therapeutic communication to build rapport and support patients.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in Meditech.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient safety and treatment goals.
