License: Anesthesia Technician certification is preferred. Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Must-Have: Completion of a medical terminology course is preferred. Description: Responsible for daily anesthesia machine and related equipment maintenance. Assists anesthesia staff with pressure line insertion procedures. Maintains adequate anesthesia-related supply inventory. Performs routine assigned clinical tasks of limited complexity. Works under direct supervision within defined parameters. Operates autoclaves and other cleaning equipment in adherence with established policies. Assembles pressure line insertion and monitoring supplies and equipment. Assists physicians during line insertions. Troubleshoots patient monitoring equipment intraoperatively. Tests functionality, stocks, and calibrates patient monitoring equipment as needed on a daily basis. Works collaboratively with staff, supervisors, and vendors to ensure product quality while minimizing costs. Makes decisions regarding own work, often limited and confined to routine matters. Elevates questions, problems, and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
