Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepare anesthesia machines, equipment, carts, and supplies for surgical and procedural cases
  • Assist anesthesia providers with the setup and breakdown of anesthesia equipment
  • Ensure anesthesia supplies are available, properly stocked, and ready for scheduled procedures
  • Inspect anesthesia machines, monitors, airway equipment, and related supplies for proper functionality
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctioning or damaged equipment promptly
  • Assist with the cleaning, disinfection, and appropriate processing of anesthesia equipment according to infection prevention standards
  • Maintain anesthesia carts and procedure areas in an organized and ready-to-use condition
  • Assist with transporting and positioning equipment and supplies as needed
  • Support operating room turnover by ensuring anesthesia equipment is cleaned, restocked, and prepared for the next procedure
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and communicate supply shortages to the appropriate department
  • Follow facility policies regarding equipment handling, infection prevention, patient safety, and workplace safety
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, nurses, surgical technologists, and other perioperative staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to equipment checks, maintenance, and supplies
  • Respond efficiently to urgent requests from the anesthesia and surgical teams
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician or related healthcare technology program preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Anesthesia Technician experience
  • ASAAT certification required by facility
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, airway devices, monitoring equipment, and perioperative supplies
  • Experience working in an operating room, procedural suite, or acute-care hospital environment
  • Knowledge of infection prevention, equipment cleaning, and safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Commitment to patient safety and perioperative excellence
