Acute Care RN Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota or eligibility for reciprocity
  • At least 1 year of professional RN experience preferred
  • Prior acute care or hospital nursing experience strongly preferred, though candidates with other relevant experience may be considered
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Commitment to professional standards, infection prevention, patient safety, and continuous learning

Acute Care Travel Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in accordance with the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, and professional standards
  • Assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Administer medications, fluids, and respiratory treatments as prescribed
  • Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, care provided, interventions, and patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, recovery, and discharge instructions
  • Prioritize assignments and organize care to meet patient needs efficiently
  • Follow infection control, safety, and quality-improvement practices
  • Provide guidance to assigned staff and support continuity of care
  • Contribute to team communication, new staff orientation, and ongoing professional development
