Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute hospital setting, requiring 2+ years of case management experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

  • Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review unit
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • Handles discharge planning and large caseloads, up to 20 patients per day
  • Every other weekend required (two 2-day weekends in a 6-week rotation)
  • Every other holiday required
  • Floating required to Medical units, ICU/CCU, and Maternal Child

Requirements

  • Active RN license - compact or MD license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent case management experience required (within the last 7 years)
  • Prior travel assignment experience required
  • Acute hospital experience required (ICU, MS, SDU/PCU/IMC/Obs, Women's Services)
  • Discharge planning and large caseload management experience required
  • Experience utilizing InterQual Criteria and Milliman Guidelines
  • Experience with admission criteria, care coordination, and continued stay reviews
  • Social workers (LMSW, MSW, or LCSW) with 2+ years of experience will also be considered
  • Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

  • Perform utilization review tasks including admission criteria review and continued stay reviews
  • Coordinate care and manage discharge planning for a high-volume caseload
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment is required
  • Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
  • Candidates with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
