Requirements:
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
- 1 years of recent relevant experience.
- Proficiency in ICD-9 coding.
- Experience with medical record review, data abstraction, and diagnosis and treatment coding.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Knowledge of confidentiality, medical information release, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- Ability to perform basic analytical calculations and maintain accurate, timely registry data.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English and demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with trauma registry database systems.
- Experience submitting trauma registry data to county or state agencies.
- Experience producing reports for injury research, performance improvement, quality improvement, or administration.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams and department projects.
