Trauma Medical Director / Surgical Critical Care Director Opportunity in Norwalk, Connecticut (One hour from New York City)
The Department of Surgery at Norwalk Hospital/ Northwell Health, is seeking a full-time Trauma/Acute Care/Critical Care Surgeon with a path to become its next Trauma Medical Director, and join its established program that includes four other fellowship trained ACS surgeons. Norwalk Hospital is located about one hour outside of New York City in suburban Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Norwalk Hospital is a 366-bed community teaching hospital in coastal southwestern Connecticut. The oldest established ACS verified level II trauma centers in Connecticut, Trauma/Acute Care coverage is provided 24/7 by our team of fellowship trained, board certified surgeons and surgical physician assistants, in addition to the PA residents training in our nationally renowned Surgical PA Residency Program.
The ideal candidate will be board certified in General Surgery and have completed a fellowship in Trauma/Acute/Critical Care Surgery, and have several years of post-fellowship experience. Responsibilities include oversight of the trauma program, clinical care and teaching surgical PA students, residents and rotating medical students. Faculty appointments are available through our affiliations We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including allowances for professional dues, CME and relocation expenses.
Norwalk Hospital is ideally situated in Fairfield County, Connecticut, along the Long Island Sound. The city of Norwalk is rich in cultural diversity and offers many venues for four season outdoor and indoor recreational activities.
