    Transporter (Part-Time, Night Shift

    UPMC Williamsport | 24 Hours per Week | 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM

    Includes every other weekend and holiday rotation

    Join UPMC Williamsport and play an important role in ensuring patients, staff, and critical supplies move safely and efficiently throughout the hospital. As a Transporter, you'll help support exceptional patient care by providing timely transportation services and maintaining a positive experience for patients, visitors, and team members.

    What You'll Do

    • Safely transport patients and necessary equipment between nursing units, treatment areas, and other hospital locations.
    • Deliver supplies, medications, equipment, and other materials accurately and efficiently throughout the facility.
    • Ensure proper handoff procedures when delivering medications to nursing staff.
    • Clean, disinfect, and inspect transportation equipment to maintain a safe environment.
    • Document transportation activities using electronic tracking systems and department logs.
    • Communicate transportation updates, concerns, or unusual situations to leadership.
    • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with patients, visitors, and coworkers.

    Education & Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safely operate transport equipment.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills with a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

    • CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must meet American Heart Association (AHA standards and include both didactic and hands-on skills components.
    • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting Certification (with renewal
    • Act 33 Clearance (with renewal
    • Act 34 Clearance (with renewal
    • Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal

    Additional Information

    • May work in areas where medications are stored and may transport medications in accordance with hospital policies. Medication transport is limited to transfers between departments and in conjunction with patient transport responsibilities.
