    Description

    Position Summary

    Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of planning, scheduling and tracking the transport of Mobren and SPL raw materials and finished goods via over-the-road tanker, dry van and refrigerated trailers to suppliers and customers throughout the U.S. and Canada. This role is with Mobren in Sioux City Iowa.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor opportunities and issues concerning inventory movement and operational activities-including supplier-to-plant, plant-to-warehouse and inbound/outbound freight- to ensure all drivers (company and third-party) comply with policies, procedures, safety standards, DOT requirements and other applicable government regulations.

    • Direct activities regarding performing repairs and maintenance to equipment, vehicles, trucks and facilities.

    • Plans, organizes, and oversees driver operations while coaching, training, and developing staff; manages performance through regular evaluations, sets clear objectives, communicates policies and expectations, and promotes a positive, accountable work environment.

    • Track expenditures and other financial information that accurate data is available to analyze fleet efficiencies, and improvement opportunities.

    • Develop, implement, and monitor annual budget providing quarterly budget reports/forecasts against AOP.

    • Recommend capital expenditures/coordinate sale of surplus/obsolete equipment.

    • Directs activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking 3rd party fleet contractors and associated equipment.

    • Serve as point-of-contact for all drivers.

    • Administer driver payroll system and fleet maintenance program from the ELD system.

    • Maintain driver qualification files, audit driver hours, scan and store electronic documents with indefinite retention of files.

    • Monitor driver vehicle inspection reports (E-DVIRS) and hours of services requirements.

    • Coordinate monthly safety meetings and annual refresher courses for driver continuous training and learning.

    • Adheres to established work schedules in a consistently reliable manner and performs job responsibilities and delivers work products on a dependable and timely basis.

    • Conduct investigations in cooperation with SPL- EHS Manager and Mobren Operations team to determine causes of transportation near misses and accidents. Make recommendations to improve safety procedures.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of experience

    • Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) and 5 years of experience preferred
