Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:Provide expert consultation within the Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) industry, with a focus on trucking and transportation safetyAdvise on federal and state regulatory compliance and applicable industry standardsEvaluate and advise on transportation safety policies, procedures, and best practicesConduct CMV accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action recommendationsServe as a subject matter expert for regulatory, operational, and safety-related transportation issuesProvide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writingMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks and participate in professional societiesRegular and predictable physical presence in the officeLong term goal to become testifying expertAccept and integrate constructive feedback into job performanceRegular and predictable presence at work Position Requirements:Bachelor's DegreeEducation and training specifically in transportation safetyMinimum of 10 years of post-academic experience in a safety roleCertified Director of Fleet Safety (CFS) strongly preferredAbility to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writingPublic speaking experience a plusExceptional interpersonal and communication skills Physical Requirements:Ability to lift 50 lbsAbility to carry equipment to and from job sitesAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writingAbility to drive in all conditionsAbility to fly on airplanesAbility to effectively communicate with clients and colleaguesAbility to visually inspect job sites and relevant artifactsAbility to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work siteAbility to learn a new industry and obtain required certificationsS-E-A places a strong value on employee health and wellness across the company.
