Job Summary
Under direction, assist in the planning, organization, and coordination of a pupil transportation program; assist in the scheduling and assigning of bus driver personnel; transport students to and from school and on field trips; plan and conduct a bus driver training program; instruct and evaluate bus drivers to ensure that a high standard of performance is achieved and maintained; perform daily inspections of a bus or transportation equipment; coordinate transportation routing, scheduling, dispatching, driver training, safety, and operational records; provide ongoing in-service and refresher training; ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local pupil transportation requirements; and to do other related work as required.

THE FOLLOWING MUST BE OBTAINED WITHIN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT: Possession of a valid Class B, California Driver's License with a Passenger and School (PS) endorsement; Possession of a School Bus Driver's Certificate, issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles; Possession of the required California State School Bus Driver Instructor certification IF SELECTED THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED: Fingerprint verification at an approximate cost of $64 to the employee; Proof of TB clearance (within 4 years) at employee's cost or a "Certificate of Completion" signed by a licensed health care provider for the Adult TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire; Certificate of Completion for the CA Mandated Reporter Training, dated after July 1, 2026
