Overview Transportation Operations Manager (FTCRSN-2026-24658): Bowhead seeks a dynamic Transportation Operations Manager to support the Fort Carson, Colorado, logistics operations - Maintenance, Supply, and Transportation for the installation logistics support contract activity. Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) consists of four primary divisions: Plans and Operations (P&O); Materiel Maintenance Division (MMD); Installation Supply & Services Division (ISSD); and the Installation Transportation Division (ITD).
Responsibilities Responsible for the administrative/operational leadership of the FCCO Transportation Department within the program guidelines set by the Project Manager and contract Performance Work Statement. Areas of responsibility include all transportation, Motor Pool (TMP), and freight operations.
Job Duties
Supervisory Responsibilities Provides leadership and direction to the FCCO TD management and technical team. Ability to gain cooperation in order to coordinate the work of others and build a cohesive team. Monitor/provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, coaching, and disciplinary action. Ensures flow of communication from upper management to employees and vice versa.
Qualifications
Experience Must have at least 10 years of documented supervisory experience in a transportation related field Must have at least 5 years of documented supervisory experience in materiel movement shipments
Education Associate's degree is required at a minimum; however, a Bachelor's degree is preferred
Skills Comprehensive knowledge of Defense Management, Acquisition, and Use of Motor Vehicles Comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in personal property inbound and outbound Comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in DoD air and ground transportation Comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in the areas of personal property, unit movement, materiel movement, and transportation motor pool operations Comprehensive knowledge of all installed product software at the use/operator level and automated data processing policies and procedures as they pertain to assigned equipment, both LIS and installation desktop computers to solve and/or contact appropriate technical support to resolve any problem associated with these systems Individual shall have written and oral communications abilities commensurate with this management role Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government Representative, and outside contacts Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a cohesive team Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record Ability to pass a pre-employment background check US Citizenship is required

Security Clearance Requirements Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
