Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Design and Delivery Department Lead, we will count on you to take responsibility for the daily operations and continued growth for an established and growing highway and municipal roadway design group. In this position, reporting to the Transportation Business Group Manager (Eastern Canada), your direct reports will include the Section Managers within the Department and possibly additional specialty and practice leaders.

The Sections include:

  • Design and Delivery for Roads
  • Roadway Transit (BRT, LRT, Transit Priority, etc.)
  • Transportation Hydraulics
  • CAD/BIM

With the support to grow and expand sections in response to needs and opportunities dictated by the market, through collaboration, the role supports the growth and success of the Highways, Transit, Freight, Maritime, and Aviation market sectors within the Transportation industry.

Operations

  • Communicate, implement, and monitor department procedures, processes, and adherence to corporate and company policies and project contractual terms.

Team Management

  • Oversee project staffing and workload balancing for the department across Canada.
  • Manage activities of personnel within a department to provide high-quality services and to achieve or exceed plan results.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and improve technical competencies of Department staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers.
  • Oversee hiring, performance evaluation, staff development, training, recognition, and retention.
