Requirements / Qualifications
Candidate will assign and schedule Special Education students to bus routes for transport to designated school and/or sites in the County; monitor, coordinate, adjust, and modify bus routing systems based upon student enrollments, adds, drops, and transfers; and respond to questions, complaints, and client requests related to transportation activities, operations and services. Candidate will exercise responsibility for ensuring that special education students are appropriately scheduled and routed to designated sites in an effective and timely manner and for coordinating and monitoring the effectiveness of the transportation and routing systems. Candidate needs knowledge of the provisions of the California Motor Vehicle Code and Education Code applicable to the transport of Special Education students; topography and road conditions in the county and related areas; Transportation routing and scheduling to include computer systems applications; Special Education transportation requirements; correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; telephone techniques and etiquette; oral and written communication skills. Qualifications: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and have scheduling experience involving contact with the public in an automated office environment. Licenses: Maintain a valid and appropriate California Driver's License; a driving record which meets the JPA's insurance requirements (Joint Powers Agency).
